Edgewood, Kirkwood, East Lake

Edgewood is an in-town neighborhood of mostly craftsman bungalows located between Reynoldstown and Kirkwood, and close to Little 5 Points. The Edgewood retail district has large commercial tenants such as Lowe’s, Target, Best Buy, Kroger, to name a few. The neighborhood organizes an annual holiday party and local festivals.
 
Kirkwood neighborhood was originally a suburban stop on the trolley in the early 1900s. With a collection of historic homes, and lots of newer infill construction, there’s a wide range of homes and sizes available. The neighborhood has several city parks, such as the popular Bessie Branham Park, home of the Kirkwood Spring Fling festival. Kirkwood village feels like a small town with its own fire station, public library, post office, and shops, restaurants, and cafes.  City of Atlanta schools include Toomer Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr. Middle, and Maynard H. Jackson HS, and lottery for Charles R. Drew Charter School.
 
East Lake neighborhood is home to bungalows and cottages as well as larger newer construction homes surrounding the famous East Lake Golf Course, and Charlie Yates Golf course (public).  Local eateries are sprinkled throughout the area, as well as convenient retail on Edgewood Ave which borders East Lake on the south. The East Lake YMCA is also a great amenity. Just five miles from downtown Atlanta, and easy access to the Interstate make for conveniently connecting with the airport.  City of Atlanta schools include Toomer Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr. Middle, and Maynard H. Jackson HS, and first tier for Charles R. Drew Charter School.
